A jury has been empanelled in the trial of a 29-year-old Suffolk man who was arrested after a fatal stabbing in Leiston last year.
Before Ipswich Crown Court is Oskars Kantors of Old School Close, Leiston, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering 41-year-old Agris Leigavnieks, of Old School Close, Leiston, on October 17 last year.
Police were called by the ambulance service at 8.50pm on Monday, October 17 last year to reports that a man had been assaulted at an address in Old School Close.
The victim was taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance, where he later died.
A jury was empanelled on Monday and the case, which is expected to last several weeks, will get underway with an opening by prosecution counsel Simon Spence KC on Tuesday.
