Two men have been charged following an investigation that linked more than 100 possible reports of fraudulent activity to an Ipswich-based financial company.

Steven Long, 56, of Onehouse, Stowmarket, and Ray Simpson, 72, of Miranda Do Corvo in Portugal, have been charged in connection with a long-running fraud inquiry. 

The East Region Special Operations Unit followed more than 100 reports of fraudulent activity. 

The offences are alleged to have taken place at an Ipswich-based financial company between 2008 and 2018.

Long was charged with three counts of fraud by abuse of position, contrary to section 1-4 of the Fraud Act 2006.

Simpson was charged with one count of the same offence.

Both men are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 8 November.
