A highly-anticipated pub is set to open in the Suffolk countryside, but its opening has been pushed back after an issue arose inside the property.
The George has been taken over by the owners of The Vine in Bardfield: Spencer Hewitt, Spencer Martin and Carl Cooper, with the addition of Jordan Adams for the new property.
Originally the new pub was going to open for drinks yesterday, Tuesday, October 17, with the food service available to order on Friday night.
However, the opening has now been pushed to Wednesday, October 25, after an issue with the boiler left the pub feeling cold.
"We can't open with it this cold," said Jordan Adams, co-owner of The George.
"Everything inside is finished but we want to wait until the boiler is fixed until we open.
"We are raring to go but with this cold spell that we are having at the moment, being in a cold pub isn't ideal."
A new boiler is being fitted at the site on Monday, with the owners confident that the pub will open the following Wednesday.
The George will serve "divine" burgers and roast wraps as part of its menu, which diners will be able to enjoy from next week.
