A highly-anticipated café and Christmas shop are set to open on a popular Suffolk estate today after months of construction work.

Roots Café announced its opening in August at Blackthorpe Barns on the Rougham Estate, a wedding venue and popular Christmas wonderland.

The images released regularly on the new site's social media channels teased what the site would look like, with regular build updates as the barn was constructed.

Now, the wait is over for fans of both Christmas and coffee, as the site will open to customers today.

The cafe will be open from 8.30am and is dog-friendly, according to a post on social media.

"As much as possible, our tasty dishes and refreshments use locally-sourced ingredients and local suppliers," said the social media post.
