An illegal immigrant who raped a woman in Ipswich and man who rammed a police car with a stolen disability vehicle were among those who were jailed at Ipswich Crown Court this week.
Dekan Saed
Dekan Saed, a 21-year old illegal immigrant originally from Iraq, was found guilty of five offences of rape at a trial earlier this year.
Ipswich Crown Court heard how Saed, who was living in Portman Road, raped a woman in a flat in Ipswich after plying her with alcohol and cocaine on November 13 last year.
Saed denied raping, falsely imprisoning and strangling the 20-year-old victim.
He has been jailed for 11 years.
Shaun Hogg
Shaun Hogg was jailed at Ipswich Crown Court after he rammed a police car with a stolen £27,000 disability vehicle.
The 42-year-old was arrested after the incident in Colchester in January this year.
Hogg, of no fixed address, refused to stop for police when he caused the crash.
He was jailed for 30 months, banned from driving for three years and three months and handed a three-year criminal behaviour order.
The court was told Hogg had 114 previous convictions but was looking to turn his life around.
