Works to redevelop a former Suffolk restaurant into flats is underway.
Station Road restaurant in Sudbury has been stood empty since July 2022.
Bosses of the restaurant said it was the "hardest" decision ever.
Babergh District Council received an application on July 5 of this year which outlined plans to redevelop the site into four flats.
In August 2023 the application was given the go-ahead by the planning committee at Babergh District Council.
Work has now begun transforming the restaurant into four flats.
Part of the building has been fenced off while the work is carried out.
All four flats will have one bedroom, living area and a kitchen.
There was some concerns regarding parking permits from local residents.
