Rising costs and staff shortages have been revealed as the reason behind the temporary closure of a Suffolk pub.
The Plough in Wangford announced on Monday that it had closed doors suddenly.
Employees at the pub have been offered alternative employment at other Adnams establishment while the brewer, which runs the pub, explores options for its future.
"Adnams is continuing to explore all relevant options regarding the future viability of The Wangford Plough," a spokesman said.
"No advance bookings have taken place at the venue since June, in order to avoid sudden impact to customers.
"While not a decision undertaken lightly, the business has taken the step of temporary closure in the wake of rising operating costs, staff shortages and changes in consumer habits."
The spokesman added the brewer will look towards a sustainable operating model for the pub.
