A plea hearing for an 85-year-old Hadleigh man accused of attempting to murder his wife earlier this year has been adjourned to allow a further medical report to be prepared on him.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday was David Walmsley, of Meadows Way, Hadleigh.
He is accused of attempting to murder his wife Margaret Walmsley on May 28.
Christopher Paxton KC, for Walmsley, asked for his client's plea hearing to be adjourned to allow a report to be obtained from a neurologist.
Judge Martyn Levett agreed to adjourn the case until November 13 and remanded Walmsley in custody.
Walmley's trial was due to get underway on November 20.
