A council has reported a 'good level of interest' in buying beach huts as part of a major Suffolk seaside regeneration project, with some sales currently underway.
The Seashore Village on Felixstowe seafront is due to be completed next month and East Suffolk Council has reported interest in the 27 traditional beach huts that are set to be built as part of the scheme.
Prices for the huts, marketed through Scott Beckett estate agents, range from £22,000 to £35,000 for a 15-year lease, with the option of a further five years.

A spokesperson for the council said: “The development is progressing well and completion is expected next month.
"There will then be a phased opening, with the accessible beach huts and those for hire becoming available soon. The date for this will be confirmed in due course.
“There has been a good level of interest in the sales of beach huts, with some sales currently underway.
"We would expect interest to increase further still once the site is officially complete and can be fully appreciated by potential purchasers."

In May, the EADT reported residents' concerns the village would not be completed in time for its scheduled opening date of this summer.
As well as the 27 huts, there is also a single-storey accessible hut, built from self-insulating panels and capable of being split into smaller rooms or pods for hire.

The site between the road and prom is being re-landscaped, with ramp access installed from Sea Road and the prom, where new fully accessible toilets will also be added and open year-round.
In July, the EADT reported how a new activity park had opened as part of the village, featuring a climbing wall, petanque piste, table tennis tables, accessible picnic benches and an outdoor space for workouts.
