A new health club on the edge of Bury St Edmunds will open in 2024, with the works set to start later this year.
Developer Countryside just announced the completion of the sale of land off Sandlands Drive in Marham Park to David Lloyd Leisure.
The proposed designs for the new leisure club include heated indoor and outdoor pools, such as a five-lane internal pool, an outdoor leisure pool, and a children's splash play zone.
The venue will also offer a state-of-the-art gym and fully equipped group exercise studios, as well as indoor and outdoor tennis and padel courts.
Other wellness facilities will include a luxury indoor spa, which will include saunas, steam rooms, hydrotherapy pool beds, and a deep relaxation zone.
Works on the brand-new David Lloyd Bury St Edmunds will start later this year. The club is due to open during 2024.
Martin Leach, the managing director of Vistry Major Projects, said: “We are very excited to be welcoming David Lloyd Clubs to Marham Park.
“The start of work on-site marks a major milestone and will significantly improve the health and wellness facilities and wider offering at the development.
“We look forward to seeing the next stages of construction unfold over the coming months.”
Stuart Caswell from David Lloyd Leisure added: “Marham Park is a fantastic development, easily accessible for the whole of Bury St. Edmunds and surrounding communities. We are delighted to be part of its promising future.
“Our broad range of premium, family-focused health and wellness facilities appeal to people of all ages and lifestages and we look forward to welcoming the local community into the club in 2024.”
