A play park in a Suffolk town was found littered with bags filled with dog poo – with some of the feces smeared on pieces of equipment.
Pit Park, based just off Queens Road in Sudbury, was the scene of the incident as the climbing wall was covered in poo and poo bags were left lying around the bottom of the children's slide.
Sudbury town councillor Nigel Bennett, who is the ward councillor for north Sudbury, expressed his disappointment.
He said: "It is very disappointing that a few can treat a play area for young children in such a way.
"It is sad that the few have no regard for the impact they can have on others.
"I want to thank our community wardens and Babergh District Council for a quick response to clean up this incident.
"I hope people will report anti-social behaviour if they witness it."
The poo has now been cleaned up at the park.
The equipment was only installed at the park recently.
A Babergh District Council spokesman said of the incident: "Our popular play area off Queens Road in Sudbury has only recently been refurbished, so we were incredibly sad to see this vandalism.
"There is no excuse, especially with a mix of four litter and dog bins on site, and others just a short walk away.
"Our public realm team already acted quickly to thoroughly clean and disinfect the equipment and report the incident to the police – so the play area can again be enjoyed by local families.
"We’d encourage anyone with any information to report it to the police."
