With the schools back and the nights drawing in, it is time to start making plans for the autumn season. There's no better place to start than with the spookiest night of the year: Halloween.
Several events have already been announced for the Halloween season. Even though the fearful night is still several weeks away, these spooktacular experiences should be booked soon to avoid missing out.
1. Botanical Pumpkin workshop
Where: The Southwold Flower Company, Reydon
The Southwold Flower Company is known across East Anglia for their pick-your-own flowers, creative workshops and flower arrangements for weddings and events.
Now it has launched its own pop-in botanical pumpkin workshops, in which visitors to the site in Reydon will use pressed flowers to make their pumpkins beautiful rather than horrifying, as is the Halloween tradition.
2. Scaresville: The Haunted Village
Where: Kentwell Hall, Long Melford
You can be a part of the Halloween day celebration, when there are ghost tours arranged and ghost films shown at the spooky site of historic Kentwell Hall in Long Melford.
Occasionally you may also come across a film crew shooting at the hall. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is one of the most famous movies shot at this Suffolk landmark.
3. Carnival of Screams
Where: Landguard Fort, Felixstowe
On the evenings of Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28, out-of-hours visitors should prepare to scream as live actors and special effects twist the historic landmark at one of the most haunted places in Britain into a thing of nightmares...
The Kaminski Carnival has named Landguard Fort as its out-of-season home, so visitors should expect twisted magic, death-defying acrobats and clowns who are a little different to usual.
4. Halloween Afternoon Tea
Where: Suffolk Food Hall, near Ipswich
The Halloween afternoon tea will be held on Wednesday, September 25, Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.
5. Pumpkin picking
Where: Hollow Trees Farm, Siam Hall Spooky Pumpkins, Rougham Estate, Midnyx's Pumpkin Patch, Woodbridge Pumpkin Patch
With Halloween just over a month away, farms are getting ready to open up their pumpkin patches once again.
Several patches have announced that they will soon be opening and, with an influx expected during the October half-term holiday, people interested are recommended to go sooner rather than later.
