Images have been released of the build progress of a new café in west Suffolk.

Roots, a café set for the heart of the Rougham Estate near Bury St Edmunds, is nearing the completion of its build.

Blackthorpe Barns is well-known for its sunflower-picking fields during the summer months and its yearly Christmas extravaganza.

"The build is progressing well," said Rob Tate, managing director of Appetite Me.

"And now we have our shopfitters and kitchen fitters completing the finishing touches in readiness for the opening.

"The café will be called Roots, as Rougham has a deep heritage as a farming estate. There will be space for over 100 seats inside with over 60 more in the courtyard.

"We have our key members of staff already working on the project and are busy recruiting both front and back-of-house teams, with training programs at the ready."

Roots at Blackthorpe Barns is set to open on October 18.
