Matt Hancock said Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins was like nothing he's experienced before.
The former Health Secretary and West Suffolk MP is one of 16 famous faces being put through their paces in the new series, which begins on September 26.
Hancock is among the recruits who jetted off to north Vietnam to experience the jungle phase of SAS selection.
“Being on SAS was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced," said the west Suffolk MP. "It’s one of the toughest physical and mental things I’ve ever done.
“It really opens your eyes and makes you look into yourself."
The MP, who is due to stand down from his seat at the next election, spent 80 hours filming the show between September 24 and October 8 last year.
MPs’ Register of Interests revealed he was paid £45,000 to appear on the Channel 4 show.
“After coming through the most challenging period as health secretary during the pandemic, I wanted to push my limits.”
“It’s safe to say the course tested my resilience,” the 44-year-old added.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to Channel 4 on September 26 at 9.30pm.
