The body of a man was found in a field in an east Suffolk village at the weekend.
Emergency services were called at about 8.50am on Saturday by a member of the public to reports they had found a body in a field off Snape Road in Friston, near Saxmundham and Aldeburgh.
The man's death is not being treated as suspicious.
However, following initial police enquiries the man has not been identified and there have been no missing person reports that fit his description.
The field had recently been harvested for potatoes and it appears the man had been gleaning for leftover potatoes with a trowel, police said.
The man is described as white, believed to have been aged in his 60s, of a medium build and with receding blond or grey hair.
He was wearing a blue short-sleeved T-shirt and khaki shorts when he was found.
A silver bicycle was found nearby which is thought to have belonged to him.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they may know who this man is.
This includes anyone who may have seen a man on a bike matching the description above in the local area towards the end of last week; or anyone who has a relative, friend, or neighbour who they haven’t heard from over the past few days.
Anyone with information is asked to contact East CID at Lowestoft Police Station, quoting reference number 52671/23.
