Despite it being September and nearly autumn, the UK is currently experiencing a heatwave. 

The Met Office predicts temperatures this week could reach as high as 32C this week, peaking on Wednesday September 6 and Thursday September 7. 

A yellow heat alert was put in place which was then upgraded to an amber alert.

It is likely the heatwave will continue into the weekend in parts of England and Wales, but how much will Suffolk see?

Wednesday, September 6

Temperatures in Suffolk are expected to reach 30C at around 3pm, with high temperatures throughout the day. 

There is less than a 5 per cent chance of rain. 

Thursday, September 7

Places such as Bury St Edmunds will only be slightly cooler at 29C, with temperatures 27C or higher in other parts of Suffolk.

Friday, September 8

Midday temperatures are expected to reach 27C in Ipswich. 

There is a 10% chance of rain in the morning but the rest of the day will be clear sunshine.

Saturday, September 9

West Suffolk could see another increase in temperature with the heat peaking at 30C around 4pm. 

The Suffolk coast in east Suffolk will be cooler with temperatures of around 25 C.

Sunday, September 10

The heatwave will continue to be slightly cooler on Sunday with maximum temperatures of 25C. 

However, in Newmarket temperatures could still reach as high as 30C in the afternoon. 

Monday, September 11

After high temperatures the day before, Newmarket will cool to 25C. 

It is expected there will be sunshine and clouds throughout the day across Suffolk.

From Monday the temperatures in Suffolk will significantly drop to around 20C and it shouldn't be too long until the autumn weather and temperatures return.
