The dream of an antique-collecting duo has come true as they have opened the doors to their first shop in a Suffolk town.

Sudbury residents Carl Jones and Honor Nolan launched Unit 6 Antiques in the town's Drury Drive in July, fulfilling an ambition for the pair who are fans of all things vintage.

The shop, which is open from 10am until 4pm every weekday, sells a mix of antique and vintage items from 18th century country house antiques to mid-century teak furniture, as well as art, collectables, clothing and shoes.

Carl Jones, who grew up in Bury St Edmunds before moving to Sudbury, said: "I have a history of selling antiques online and also selling at antique fairs.

"I have to say my hatred for flat pack furniture from IKEA was definitely the catalyst to which then led to my obsession in buying and collecting antiques.

"Every antique collector's dream is to open an antique shop. I’m also lucky to have found someone who is equally as crazy as me and is able to join me on this journey and help bring these dreams to reality."

Unit 6 Antiques also sells items from its Etsy account where it currently has a five-star item review rating.

The pair said Sudbury residents have been very welcoming of their new venture, with many paying a visit to check out the shop.

Since opening, Carl said: "The feedback has been amazing. The support from the locals has been overwhelming.

"Seeing all these people come through the door and giving us good feedback, it’s just the best feeling ever.

"I feel thankful for all the people around me and customers old and new and am really excited what the future holds."
