The hottest temperatures of 2023 could be seen this week as a heatwave arrives in Suffolk.
The Met Office is predicting maximum temperatures of 32C on Wednesday and Thursday and have issued an amber heat alert today (September 5).
It comes as after a yellow heat alert was issued across most of England, between 2pm on Monday, September 4 and 9pm on Sunday, September 10.
So where in Suffolk will it be the warmest according to the Met Office?
On Wednesday temperatures in Ipswich will reach 26C by 12pm, which could rise to 30C by 4pm.
Seaside towns like Aldeburgh and Southwold will be slightly cooler, only reaching maximum temperatures between 23C and 26C.
Stowmarket in mid Suffolk will also reach 30C by mid afternoon, as will Sudbury and Haverhill.
Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket will be ever so slightly cooler at 29C.
Similar maximum temperatures have been reported for Thursday.
This makes the hottest places in Suffolk this week Ipswich, Stowmarket, Sudbury, and Haverhill.
It is set to become cooler over the weekend and turn unsettled, which means the weather will return to the average temperatures for September.
