A plea hearing for an 85-year-old Hadleigh man accused of attempting to murder his wife earlier this year has been adjourned until later this month.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday (September 1) via a prison video link was David Walmsley of Meadows Way, Hadleigh.
He is accused of attempting to murder his wife Margaret Walmsley on May 28.
Christopher Paxton KC, for Walmsley, asked for his client's plea hearing to be adjourned until later this month to allow medical evidence to be obtained and considered.
Judge Martyn Levett agreed to adjourn the plea hearing until September 29 and directed that Walmsley should be brought to court.
A trial date has been set for November 20 this year with a pre-trial review on November 16.
Judge Levett said Walmsley should remain in custody.
