A major route around a Suffolk town was closed, causing huge queues of traffic.
The A143 Compiegne Way was shut both ways from Orttewell Road to the A134 roundabout on Tuesday afternoon.
Traffic was building as far back as Great Barton, and a diversion route was taking drivers through Bury St Edmunds via Barton Road.
Barton Road was completely grid-locked as traffic started to build around Bury St Edmunds.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police said that they were called to a tractor and trailer fire on the road at around 8.15pm on Saturday, August 26, and the road has remained closed since then.
