Suffolk police is being investigated for officers' actions prior to a road traffic collision in which a woman was killed.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the actions of both Norfolk and Suffolk police forces in the lead up to a crash on the A143 in Earsham on Sunday, August 13.
The incident saw a 28-year-old woman killed after the Nissan Juke she was driving was involved in a collision with a Land Rover Defender.
The Land Rover had been reported as stolen in Suffolk and was being followed by an unmarked police vehicle, with more marked police vehicles some distance behind.
Aerial footage from the National Police Air Service showed police officers had attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop and drove into a maize field.
Drone images have emerged showing the trail of destruction left by the 4x4.
After leaving the field, the driver of the Land Rover then re-entered the A143 where, about 30 seconds later, it collided with a Nissan Juke travelling in the opposite direction.
The IOPC confirmed that its investigation began the same evening of the crash.
The two men inside the Land Rover were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing dangerous driving and taken to Great Yarmouth police investigation centre for questioning after being treated in hospital for their injuries.
Marcin Jablonski, 43, of Mutfordwood Lane, Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death while driving with no insurance, causing death while driving disqualified, aggravated vehicle taking and criminal damage.
Thomaz Urbaniak, 26, of All Saints Road, Newmarket, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking.
They were remanded into custody and appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 17.
