A former architect has pursued his dreams of opening a new gallery on Woodbridge town centre.

Stephen Watkins is a contemporary artist who is best known for his city skylines.

Based in Framlingham, Mr Watkins used to be an architect before pursuing his dream of being an artist.

"I used to have a studio at Stonham Barns," said Mr Watkins.

"The opportunity came up to have my own gallery in the centre of Woodbridge and it was too good to miss."

Whilst the gallery, in the Thoroughfare, will spotlight Mr Watkins' own work, he is also keen to bring in other artists.

"I'd like to spotlight other local artists," he said.

"I'm renting out the wall space to those who would like their work on show."

The current exhibition is called 'Dreams, Manifested' and features work from three other local artists.

The gallery opened to the public on Monday, August 7, and is free to enter.

An official grand reception opening will be held on Friday, August 11, from 5pm - 8pm, and will serve complimentary refreshments.
