A gym in a Suffolk town has announced it has closed with immediate effect.
Sports Direct Fitness in Bury St Edmunds has revealed it has shut its doors, with customers notified the gym will no longer be open from Tuesday.
An email sent to customers, seen by this newspaper, said costs to maintain the facility, in Easlea Road on the Moreton Hall estate, made it "impossible to continue".
The email thanked customers for their support.
Plans to convert the building for retail purposes were first submitted in February 2021.
