A Suffolk village pub will see a £1million investment as plans for an expansion have been approved.
Works will soon start at the Packhorse Inn in Moulton, near Newmarket, and will include an extension to the kitchen and restaurant.
The pub, a part of Chestnut Group, will also expand by constructing a detached eight-bedroom accommodation block, which will be an addition to the eight existing rooms.
All of the newly built rooms will include en-suite bathrooms.
An accommodation block will be built following the demolition of an existing property on the site.
The Packhorse Inn will also add 26 spaces to its car park.
The proposal will create an additional eight jobs for people from the area, including two posts in housekeeping and six further in the bar, restaurant and kitchen.
This leading pub group has been investing heavily in its estate - and creating more bedrooms across its 16 properties, with a total of 224 bedrooms across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, employing about 530 staff.
