A five-year-old Poundland superfan has become the firm’s youngest colleague after enjoying a ride in one of the iconic lorries.
Freddie, who lives in Felixstowe, loves watching the Poundland lorries trundling in and out of the port near his home.
When the company heard about his passion, they invited him and his parents to the Poundland Harlow distribution centre in Essex, where he was the special VIP guest for the day.
The youngster was treated to a unique day he will never forget and walked away with a special present put together by the staff.
Hannah Martin, Poundland’s Harlow training manager, said: "Freddie came down with his mum and dad, and we made him a temporary, but honourable colleague!"
The five-year-old really enjoyed the day, happy to see his dream come true as he loves Poundland lorries.
Ms Martin added: "Freddie’s mum and dad told us how he loves going to the port and watching all the Poundland lorries there.
"We pulled a trailer onto our spare car park, so Freddie could enjoy a good look around.
"He is literally only as big as one of the wheels!
"One of the managers beeped the horn for him, and he gave a huge smile. It was a really lovely moment.
"Freddie had an amazing day with us, we really enjoyed having him here. We didn’t want him to go!"
Freddie left his temporary place of work with a special basket of goodies, which included a little toy truck, a toy and a name badge.
