A family butchers in a Suffolk town has seen its scotch egg sales double following a food review from a famous content creator that went viral.
Well-known creator, Matthew Binge, better known for his channel, Food Review Club was walking in Bury St Edmunds, when Joe Edis of Edis of Ely stopped him from the upstairs window, telling him he should review one of the butchers' scotch eggs.
Emerging from the shop with a couple of scotch eggs, Matthew tried the scotch egg, and heaped praise on it, saying: "That's a banger".
He also described it as being "well nice" and "sensational" before giving it his rating out of 10, as a 9.5.
The video, which was put out on social media channels has been seen by millions of people, with the TikTok video being seen by 1.6million people, and getting 118,000 likes.
Joe said: "We do sell a lot a week, we can sell over a thousand some weeks, and we have been told that they're the best in town, so I thought he had to try one for the Food Review Club.
"I've been following him on Facebook for quite a long time so I knew who he was.
"I was quite nervous before it went up how people would perceive it because I am quite anxious, I'm not great at public speaking.
"The way people have seen it and commented has been overwhelming, it's really nice."
The day after the video went up, the business, run by 29-year-old Joe, his mum, Tracey and brother Isaac, saw a rise in scotch egg sales.
Joe continued: "The day after, we doubled our scotch egg sales, it was crazy."
Even by midday on Friday, July 28, the shop had sold the estimated scotch eggs for the day, leading to Joe having to make more.
