A 60-year-old man accused of committing a string of child sex offences in Suffolk four decades ago will have to wait until 2025 for his trial to take place because of delays in the criminal justice system.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday (July 25) for a plea and trial preparation hearing was Robert Wilson of Shetland.
He pleaded not guilty to six offences of indecency with a girl and six offences of indecent assault in relation to the same alleged victim.
The alleged offences date back to 1979.
Wilson’s trial, which is expected to last four to five days, will get underway on January 20 2025 and a further case management hearing will take place on September 8 this year.
