The Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award at the East of England Tourism Awards 2023-2024 is a non-entry category, and the winner will be selected from the region’s tourism industry by a panel of judges.

It looks to recognise an individual who exemplifies the passion and commitment shown throughout the sector.

“We are blessed with an array of tourism talent across the region, all of whom deserve recognition, but celebrating the outstanding contribution of one stand-out individual is a great way to inspire others to follow in their footsteps and make a real difference to the industry both now and for many years to come,” said Paul Evans, vice president of portfolio at Awaze, the parent company of headline sponsor Hoseasons.

“This is all about celebrating someone who’s gone the extra mile to help evolve the local tourism scene as much as they have their own business,” he continued. “Our winner will have collaborated with other local tourism businesses and adopted a ‘stronger together’ approach to benefit the wider regional tourism economy.

“It might be someone whose innovative approach has had an immediate impact, or someone who, like us, has had to adapt and develop their company or contribution over time to stay at the forefront of the industry.”

The East of England’s tourism sector has developed a truly special offering, in part thanks to the hard work of individuals like our previous Outstanding Contribution to Tourism winners, and that’s why Hoseasons is proud to sponsor these awards.

“This region has been attracting holidaymakers for the 80 years we’ve been in business and will continue to do so for many years to come,” said Mr Evans.

“Whether it’s the miles of stunning coastline, the traditional family holiday resorts or the stunning array of things to see and do, there really is something for everyone in this wonderful part of the world.

“But that’s only half the story – many people come back to our region year after year, and the service they receive when they’re here plays a significant part in that.

“Those who make an outstanding contribution to our regional tourism industry really can be the difference between guests coming back here for their holidays year after year or going elsewhere, and that’s something we have to champion as much as we possibly can.”
