A man accused of arson after a fire in a Sudbury flat has been remanded in custody ahead of a crown court appearance.
Aaron Hubbard, aged 42 and of Minden Road in the town, stood before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered and arson with intent to endanger life.
On at about 8am on Sunday, July 9, fire crews were called to a blaze at an unoccupied flat in Minden Road and residents were evacuated.
Officers arrested Hubbard later that afternoon and he was questioned in relation to the suspected arson.
On Tuesday, before Suffolk Magistrates' Court, Hubbard's case was sent to Ipswich Crown Court where a plea hearing will take place on Tuesday, August 8.
Hubbard was remanded in custody awaiting the hearing.
