Emergency services were called to reports of an aircraft crashing in the grounds of Heveningham Hall at around 5.10pm on Thursday (July 6).
The pilot was airlifted to hospital and no one else was reported to have been in the plane.
Police believe the pilot was attempting to land the plane at the time of the incident.
Fire crews from Harleston, Princes Street, Ipswich, Framlingham, and Lowestoft South were called at around 5.10pm to reports that an aircraft had crashed at Heveningham Hall Estate, near Halesworth.
A stop call was put in by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service shortly after 7pm.
The news comes shortly before the hall is set to host its annual country fair, expecting thousands of visitors across the July 8 to 9 weekend.
The hall and its grounds are owned by Jon Hunt, who purchased the 5000-acre site in 1994.
