A motorcyclist has been left seriously injured after crashing into a road sign in a Suffolk village.

The incident involving a motorcycle occurred at around 5.10pm on Monday on the B1122 Yoxford Road, at the junction with Fordley Road, in Middleton, a short distance from Yoxford and the A12.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was flown by air ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

He was driving a black Yamaha FZS motorcycle which left the road and crashed into a chevron road sign.

The police would like to hear from witnesses who were in the area at the time and ask that they check their dashcam footage for any material that may be of any assistance.
