Earlier this month, the cocktail bar had announced that it was planning on 'closing in style' with the 'final weeks' upon it, but did not go into detail about the reasons behind the decision to shut.

However, the post did promise 'something very exciting coming soon, so keep your eyes out'.

Nobody from the club was available for comment when approached by the Ipswich Star on Friday.

Rumours have suggested that the upstairs and downstairs sections of the former nightclub were going to have different uses.

The venue opened in 2021 as a re-launch of Sin Bar, which previously occupied the premises, but had to close down due to links with serious crime.

An investigation by this newspaper uncovered allegations of a serious assault and breaches of licensing rules at Sin Bar, while a former assistant manager claimed there was a 'hostile environment'.

There had been complaints from police and whistleblowers, but the business was able to re-open from May 17, 2021 as Ipswich Borough Council was not taking any further action.

The previous December, the nightspot had been stripped of its licence, but the suspension was lifted on April 5, 2021.

A fresh premises licence was then issued to Virtuoso Lounge Ltd, which had run Sin Bar since August 2020.

The borough council was also approached for comment.
