A warning has been issued after doorstep traders who were seen in a Suffolk town attempted to buy a homeowner's vehicle.
Two individuals were spotted offering landscaping work at homes in Newmarket.
According to Suffolk Trading Standards, one of the callers also offered to buy a vehicle parked on the driveway of a home, despite it not being for sale.
A spokesperson for the authority said: "Our advice is to never deal with traders on your doorstep.
"Do your research before agreeing to have any work carried out. Don't be fooled by sign printed vans, glossy leaflets and a website."
Anyone who may have been approached by rogue traders is asked to contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.
