A 19-year-old is set to take the plunge into the world of business as she prepares to launch her own dog grooming salon.
Summer Mark from Stowmarket will open the doors of her own business, Summer's Groom Room, in early July.
The business will be set up at the Woodfarm Business Centre in Crowfield, near Needham Market and Stonham Aspal, and is set to open on July 5.
She said: "I have always had a passion for working with animals.
"I wanted to open up my own business at a young age, doing something I enjoy.
"I am extremely excited to be able to work my own hours, be my own boss and have my own clients and build the relationships I have with those clients.
"I have had a lot of people questioning my age and starting my own business, but I thought, if you start young, then by the time I am 22, I will be further along in my knowledge and development than what I would if I was to start the business at that age."
She has trained previously on a level 3 animal management diploma and has trained at Tendring Dog Grooming Academy.
She has also worked as a veterinary assistant for over a year.
She continued: "I have had a lot of interest.
"I have officially booked anything in yet as I wanted to wait until everything is in the salon and I am all set before doing so, but I do have some people on the books."
Summer has said that in the future, she would like to be able to keep the business smaller and personal but move to a bigger space that can accommodate space for a doggy daycare.
Summer's Groom Room will open alongside another business, The Pampered Pooch Hut.
