A man has been charged following a stabbing in a west Suffolk car park.
Police were called to St Olaves Road in Bury St Edmunds at about 10.25am on Wednesday after reports that a woman, aged in her 50s, had been stabbed.
She was walking her dog when she was approached by a man from behind at the time of the incident.
The woman was taken to hospital, but she has since been discharged.
Her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
A 58-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds has been charged in connection with the incident.
Stephen Byrne, of Hodson Close, has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm and possessing a bladed article in a public place.
He is set to appear at Suffolk Magistrates' Court today.
