A new fitness and wellbeing centre has opened in Suffolk, after two local busineses joined forces to create the retreat.

Be Well Barn launched at the end of May in Redlingfield, near Eye, having been more than 10 years in the making.

As part of the opening, owner Will Edwards approached the Suffolk Jungle Room cafe asking if they would like to open their second site.

"They approached us back in October about taking on the café space to run," said café owner Sam Coe.

"We came and had a look around and saw the vision of the site. We were bowled over by it.

"This was a little bit early than what we anticipated (opening our second site), but we have got a great team in Metfield."

While the creation of the Be Well Barn was accelerated by the Covid pandemic, Mr Edwards and his wife Sarah had always hoped to create a fitness space to be proud of.

Located on a fourth generation farm overlooking the Suffolk countryside, the business is made up of four key components.

Mr Edwards said: "It was accelerated by Covid and a desire to offer something unique in the area."

The centre offers fitness classes in their large studio, pilates, Tai Chi and other wellness classes in their wellness studio, as well as a gym and a spa.

"They have proved very popular," said Mr Edwards of the fitness classes.

"A lot of people we feel are people that want to do fitness work but do not want to be in a standard fitness environment.

"We are really pleased to be working side by side (with Suffolk Jungle Room) because they reflect what we offer."

The centre, in Redlingfield's Church Road, is open every day and offers a wide range of membership options.
