Work has started on a major expansion of Clopton Business Park near Woodbridge which will see the creation of six new business units.
It is also expanding the premises of one of its existing tenant.
Directors Milly Stone and Ben Dawson have started construction on six new 1,000 sq ft units, two of which are already reserved.
Located between Woodbridge and Wickham Market, Clopton Park is also building a 2,500 sq ft extension for Bella Figura, a top decorative lighting companies.
Mrs Stone said: “There’s a growing demand for smaller industrial units with offices and workshops or warehouse storage, from startups and expanding businesses.
“We’re responding to that and are fortunate to have the space to expand.”
An additional 5,000 sq ft building that can be customised will be part of the phased development, offering a wide range of options for companies wanting to be part of a dynamic business community.
Among the current businesses at Clopton Park are a film and TV company, wine importer, cheese wholesaler, travel agent, retail display designers, signage supplier and specialist engineering companies.
Milly and her brother Mr Dawson built the successful office village Brightwell Barns, close to BT’s Adastral Park, in 2012.
They went on to win two accolades in the 2013 Suffolk Property Awards: Commercial Property Development and Start-Up Business of the Year.
These plans were first outlined in 2021 - and after initially being turned down by planners were amended and approved a few months ago.
Mr Dawson said: “Clopton Park is a natural extension of our business at Brightwell Barns.
"At Clopton we have great access to main routes, free parking, views across open countryside and high-speed broadband.
"We also have a buzzing onsite coffee shop that attracts visitors seven days a week, from cycle groups to performance car owners. We’re creating a different style of business community here.”
The first new units will be available in late 2023.
