A community leader has expressed her sympathies after a man died in a "tragic" crash in a Suffolk town.
Emergency services were called to Acton Lane in Sudbury at about 12.40am on Saturday, to reports of a single-vehicle crash in Acton Lane involving a black BMW.
The driver of the car died at the scene of the crash.
Mayor of Sudbury Jan Osbourne said her thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died in the crash.
Former mayor Sudbury Ellen Murphy said the incident was "tragic".
She added: "It is very, very sad news.
"This is very tragic and my condolences go to the man's family and friends."
Ms Murphy said she had not heard of many serious crashes on that stretch of road before.
It comes after a husband and wife died in a crash in Sudbury after the car they were driving collided with a cement mixer.
A road closure was in place on Acton Lane which was fully reopened at 9.20am.
Officers would like anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting CAD 15.
