While we all love attending the parades and competitions at the Suffolk Show, it is rare that we are invited to enter the ring- however, this was exactly what happened on Thursday afternoon.
The Parade of Hounds has become a staple part of the Suffolk Show, with dozens of dogs traditionally bred for hunting taking to the ring.
Despite their hunting heritage, these dogs in the ring on Thursday were all friendly in nature.
The commentator explained that part of their training involved getting the dogs used to life amongst humans and included lessons in sitting on sofas and responding to their names.
After parading around the ring, led by former horse racing champions, children in the stands were invited to join them.
Tails were wagging all around as youngsters of all ages rushed in to stroke and play with the dogs.
The children were also challenged to count the dogs in the traditional manner, guessing the number of pairs in the ring.
The winner was Alexander, aged 11, who correctly guessed that there were 10 pairs.
