The Flower Show is always one of the most popular exhibits at the Suffolk Show, and this year's event was as colourful as ever.
Coming a week after the Chelsea Flower Show, this event gives visitors the chance to get a taste of floral excellence without having to travel to the capital.
As well as stunning displays, the show also gives the green fingered the chance to buy something special for their garden and get advice from experts.
Katie’s Garden Plant Centre was awarded the Silver Cup for best display for its garden in the Glasswells Flower and Garden Tent along with a certificate for Large Gold, the highest award possible.
The accolades come hot on the heels of the Newbourne nursery’s role as lead grower for the gold medal winning Talitha Arts Garden at last week’s prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, which also won Best All About Plants Garden.
The display garden at the Trinity Showground was a showcase for the nursery’s ranges of garden plants, including patio and basket plants, perennials, shrubs, ferns, grasses, alpines, herbs and edibles.
A pergola laden with hanging baskets sat over four themed cubes – including shady plants, drought-tolerant plants, wildflowers, and bright and bold – surrounded by an array of pots and planters and a wooden cart packed with grow-your-own vegetable and salad plants.
Katie’s Garden owner Susie Davis said: “We are delighted with the results of the last two weeks, which are a testament to the skills and hard work of our team here in Newbourne.”
One of the features of the flower show is the "plant creche" where people were able to leave their purchases to be picked up at the end of the day.
