The sunshine has finally arrived and the fields are looking a lot more green than they did just a few weeks ago.
As the summer approaches, it's the perfect time to get outside and pick your own fruit ahead of a family barbecue or special occasion.
Here are five places you should visit if you want to pick your own produce...
1. Friday Street
Where: Friday Street, Saxmundham IP17 1JX
Not too far from Aldeburgh, Friday Street is one of the most well-known pick your own farms in Suffolk.
Throughout the summer, you can fill up your basket with strawberries and raspberriers before heading into the farm shop to load up on plenty more goodies.
2. Goslings
Where: High Road, Felixstowe IP11 0RJ
At Goslings there are over 30 polytunnels loaded with fruit ready to be picked throughout the season.
Pick your own strawberries and raspberries in the summer or head to the shop and choose from a wide range of fruit that has been picked by Goslings staff.
3. High House Farm
Where: High House Farm Road, Woodbridge IP12 2BL
Although famed for its apple juice, there's plenty more tasty fruit at High House Farm that needs eating.
Gooseberries, raspberries, loganberries and blackberries can be picked when they are ready. Check website www.high-house.co.uk for more information on what’s available.
4. McLauchlans of Boxted
Where: 53 Straight Road, Boxted, Boxted Cross, Colchester CO4 5RB
Hop over the border into north Essex for another pick your own experience at McLauchlans.
The 2023 fruit season begins in June so you've got plenty of time to plan your trip.
5. Cox's at Spencers Farm Shop
Where: Park Road, Halstead CO9 2PX
From June to August, pick your own season gets underway at Cox's at Spencers Farm Shop.
Families can enjoy a day out here as dogs are welcome in the fields as long as they are on a lead and kids can enjoy the enclosed play area.
