Suffolk farmers’ biggest show is back for the 184th time with a record number of visitors packing in to see what this year's event had to offer.
More than 15,500 people attended the Hadleigh Show at Holbecks Park to watch the animals and exhibitions, as well as take part in the funfair.
The organisers have been preparing for months to wow the crowds with the event’s highlights, including showcasing skills on horseback, with cattle, sheep, donkeys, and heavy horses all booked and looking to be an incredible display of the traditional elements of the agricultural world.
Trade stands were full to capacity with something for everyone on the showground, food, clothes, gardening, shopping, local businesses and much more, all there for everyone.
Show director, Cathal Maginn, said: “This year’s event broke the record in number of people visiting us.
“We have about 15,500 visitors with us today, with 260 exhibitions taking place.
“The atmosphere is unbelievable. We've got the weather, we've got all the youngsters here who, hopefully, will get involved in agriculture in time.
“Our visitors can enjoy all the animals, machinery, livestock, the food hall with all the local produce and the shows done by artists from the area. They put on a fantastic show every year.
“The main attraction in the Grand Ring this year is the Shetland Pony Grand National.
“The show also fundraises for local charities, Porch Project, Hadleigh Food Bank and East Anglian Air Ambulance.”
Also at the show was rural crafts, a floral marquee, horticulture tent, education tent and art show.
The show is organised by farmer volunteers at Hadleigh Farmers Agricultural Association.
