Progress is being made to redevelop a Suffolk town's pub to provide apartments and semi-detached homes.
The sign has been removed from outside the Volunteer Inn in Leiston, which closed in 2020 having had previous closures in October 2014 and September 2016.

The property is now being redeveloped by Brightwell Ventures Ltd to provide two one-bedroom apartments, one two-bedroom apartment and two one-bedroom semi-detached homes.
The five-bedroom premises in Haylings Road used to be a long-standing pub that included a u-shaped bar area which could seat 60 people, as well as a pool table.
There was also a basement cellar, commercial kitchen and store room, while outside there was a patio for customers as well as a number of outbuildings.

The redevelopment of the pub was approved by East Suffolk Council in July.
In supporting the redevelopment, the applicant's agent Graham Bloomfield, of estate agents Sequence UK, said: "This full planning application looks to secure planning permission for the delivery of five new one and two-bedroom properties within a highly sustainable location in the town of Leiston, bringing a brownfield site back into effective and efficient use."
