Visitors to this year's Suffolk Show will be encouraged to reconnect with nature as they take a break from the hustle and bustle of the county's big showcase event.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust will  be encouraging visitors to take part in its 30 Days Wild Campaign which involves completing a "random act of wildness" each day for 30 days in June.

Wild Suffolk displays and attractions in the Wildlife Zone will enable them to explore wildlife, ponds and plant life at Trinity Park at the show on May 31 and June 1.

And those seeking tranquility will be treated to plant and floral displays in the Glasswells Flower and Garden Experience. The zones will include with free interactive activities.

The Wildlife Zone - by the Larking Gowen Bucklesham Entrance - is hosted by Suffolk Wildlife Trust and is a haven for birds, bugs and minibeasts.

Visitors can seek out butterflies in the meadow, go pond-dipping or follow a nature trail through the trees.

They can also try their hand at wildlife crafts or learn about Suffolk’s native species.

Show-goers can also learn about the creation of the trust's latest nature reserve - Martlesham Wilds.

They can also enjoy ‘bird karaoke’ with Planet Birdsong, a pop-up Birdsong studio that gives families the opportunity to sing alongside a variety of bird calls visualised on a spectrograph.

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) will also be returning to the Show’s Wildlife Zone.

Leading shooting and conservation experts will be offering up their insights, sharing wild game canapes and free hot drinks, and giving visitors a chance to try their virtual shooting simulator.

The Glasswells marquee is hosting a range of trade stalls including the Allotment Association, which will be showing visitors how they can start their own plot.

East Anglian Daily Times:

Local schools will also be showcasing their gardening flair with the Schools Show Garden Competition.

Show director John Taylor said: “Our Wildlife Zone and Flower and Garden Experience are fantastic areas to relax and reconnect with nature.

"Inspired by David Attenborough’s ‘Wild Isles’, there is so much to see here in Suffolk and we’re proud to bring nature closer to visitors at the Suffolk Show."
