A Suffolk man has been convicted of stalking a teenage girl.
Jamie O'Reilly, of Dunsey Wood Close, Haverhill, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court last Thursday.
It follows a string of stalking incidents between February 20 and July 31 last year at a shop in the town where the woman worked.
O'Reilly also sent messages from various Instagram accounts to the female victim.
The 40-year-old was arrested in early November 2022 and subsequently charged with stalking on March 17.
Following a guilty plea at an earlier hearing, O'Reilly was given a one-year restraining order not to directly or indirectly contact the victim and not to enter the store.
The order lasts until May 10, 2024.
He was also ordered to pay £700 in compensation and costs and given a six month curfew with electronic monitoring.
Investigating officer PC Steve Fox, of Suffolk police, said: “The victim felt extremely fearful and anxious as a consequence of O’Reilly’s actions and the whole affair had a significant emotional impact on the victim.
"This case demonstrates that we take all reports of stalking and harassment extremely seriously and that we will do everything we can to support them.”
