A prisoner has absconded from a Suffolk prison.
Police are appealing for help to trace Morgan Smyth, 24, who was reported missing to police at 12.45pm on Thursday from Hollesley Bay prison.
He was last seen at 10am today.
The 24-year-old is serving a three-year sentence for possession of a knife, blade or sharp pointed article; possession of an offensive weapon in a public place; threatening a person with a blade / sharply pointed article in a public place and harassment.
A spokesperson for Suffolk police said: "He is described as of a slim build, six foot three inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes and has a goatee beard and maybe wearing a light blue coat."
Enquires are on-going to locate him and anyone who has seen him or seen a male matching the description given or knows of his whereabouts should not approach him but should contact Suffolk police, quoting CAD number 198 of 11 May 2023.
