Thousands of visitors will be descending on a rural Suffolk college campus for a free family fun day out on Saturday, May 13. 

Visitors to Suffolk New College’s Suffolk Rural campus will get to see what the land-based college's facilities have to offer as it showcases its animal studies, construction, equestrianism, farming and horticulture courses through interactive fun activities.

The annual event - called the Big Day Out and billed as a "mini county show" – will take place from 10am and 4pm.

Street vendors will be selling food and drink while students and staff from Chefs’ Whites restaurant - home of the culinary arts academy based at Suffolk New College in Ipswich - will be putting on catering demonstrations.

All of the college's departments will be showcasing what they do - and getting families involved.

The college's events co-ordinator Charlotte Rossitter said: "This is always one of the highlights of the college calendar as we welcome thousands of visitors to Suffolk Rural.
