A 'truly inspirational' 14-year-old has been praised after he took it upon himself to start weeding Stowmarket's pavements.
Dominic Shortland, 14, has autism and learning difficulties and first started tidying the road he lives on last year.
"He decided he wanted to start weeding quite out of the blue," said his dad Philip Shortland, 65.
"We bought him some gloves to help and it really took off from there."
Having taken a break over the winter period when the weeds stopped growing, Dominic is now back out on the streets in full force.
"It started with our road and now he takes walks around Stowmarket and clears up anything he sees," added Mr Shortland.
"We're absolutely overwhelmed with the reaction he's received."
Recognising his efforts, a neighbour posted a picture of Dominic's good deeds on a Stowmarket Facebook group, which has since racked up nearly 2,000 likes.
"It can be quite tough for a child with disabilities, so it's nice to see people appreciating him," said Mr Shortland.
"We've lived in Stowmarket for 15 years and his mum Juliet and Riverwalk School have put in so much effort to look after him."
Amongst over 250 Facebook comments, one said the 14-year-old is a "truly inspirational young man", with many others saying we could all take a leaf out of his book.
Part of the treat for Dominic is collecting the garden waste to fill his brown bin.

His dad says that neighbours bring round their cuttings for him and he enjoys sorting them and waiting for the bin men to take it away on Monday morning.
Having received a garden trowel for Christmas, Dominic will be continuing to make sure Stowmarket is looking its best.
"It's great to see the community coming together to thank him," added Mr Shortland.
"Thank you all."
