The Green Party has won Mid Suffolk - making it the first local authority to be controlled by the party.
Its members have led other councils as part of a coalition administration but Mid Suffolk is the first to have a Green majority outright.
The party claims Mid Suffolk as the first nothern hemisphere local council to be run by a Green Party - but that rather does depend on how you define local government systems in other countries!
Mid Suffolk Greens were always favourite to take the council this time - that's why it held its national election campaign launch in Stowmarket.
But the ease with which it rolled over the Conservatives - unseating three former council leaders in the process - came as a surprise to even its keenest supporters.
But now they have a majority in Mid Suffolk, the question will be how will they run the council?
Will they run it on their own or will they invite one or two Lib Dems who they have worked with in the past into the administration?
And will the decision be up to the local group - or will they come under pressure from Party HQ who will be careful to ensure their flagship council doesn't make any "wrong" decisions?
These are interesting times for Mid Suffolk's Greens. For those elected today the hard work is only just starting - and while many people will be concentrating on the Coronation tomorrow, Mid Suffolk Green Party leaders will be busy talking to each other and national leaders about how to run the council.
