A father and son convicted of killing a thief in Bury St Edmunds and a 17-year-old who admitted attempted murder are among those jailed in Suffolk this week.
David King and Edward King
David King and Edward King were handed life sentences for the murder of Neil Charles in 2021 this week.
David, 56, and Edward, 20, chased Mr Charles from their home in Bury St Edmunds and stabbed him in the chest after he was caught trying door handles of cars in the area.
Prosecuting Richard Kelly described the action of the father and son pair as "vigilante behaviour".
The men, both of Radnor Close, were handed life sentences at Ipswich Crown Court and will serve a minimum of 21 and 19 years behind bars.
Alex Tye
Teenager Alex Tye was jailed for life after a stabbing which left a 16-year-old girl paralysed.
Tye lured his victim to an isolated area of a park in Benhall before stabbing his victim seven times.
In a hearing a Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday, the 17-year-old blamed the victim for the break up of his relationship with his girlfriend before he left her for dead in October last year.
The judge said Tye had taken the knife to the scene intending to kill the victim and had left the scene believing he’d accomplished his aim.
His victim was left paralysed from the waist down as a result of her injuries.
Tye will serve a minimum of 12-and-a-half-years in jail before considered for parole.
Jordan Pope
Jordan Pope was jailed for more than five years for a 'violent' assault that left a man lying unconscious in the road.
Pope was with a group of friends in Colchester when he attacked a man in his 20s in Culver Street.
The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack, while his brother was assaulted by a member of Pope's group.
He has since made a full recovery but he and his brother continue to live with the trauma of the attack.
Pope, 25, of Melville Road, Ipswich, was jailed for five years and two months.
Bradley Williams
Bradley Williams was sentenced to three years in jail this week for drug dealing in Ipswich.
Williams was released under investigation after being arrested for other offences in April last year.
Police searched his bedroom on two occasions, including while under investigation.
During the second search on October 18 last year, officers found cocaine, £300 cash, mobile phones and a notepad containing telephone numbers.
Williams, of Barnard Square, Ipswich was jailed for three years.
